Enjoy an early breakfast and start off at the AFEW Giraffe Center, the world renowned nature center run by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. An observation walkway allows you to get face to face with 18-foot-tall Rothschild’s giraffes. In 1974 Jock Leslie-Melville, grandson of a Scottish earl, and his wife Betty founded the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) and proceeded to move babies of the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe to their property where they have been successfully reared. Betty chronicled these events in her book, Raising Daisy Rothschild. Culminate your visit with a visit of the endearing Giraffe Manor.

Visit Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, which has a nursery for orphaned infant elephants, as well as other wildlife. Daphne was the first person to successfully raise an orphan infant elephant, discovering a formula that has now been used widely. These infants are eventually released into the wild and end up in the care of other orphans who have been successfully reintroduced to the wild. Lunch is on your own account at Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens after which do some optional shopping at Kazuri Beads factory.
